spotties
no you dont have to but definitly recomended.. most higher amp switches are only rated to 20amp where even a cheap relay is 40amps..most relays also have a pair of outputs so you can use one per spottie..forward facing spotties also have to be hooked up through headlight high beam unless they are covered by non-transparent covers .."legally".. use a minimum of 4mm cable{preferably 5mm} and run the earths back to a good solid point like the battery or thread under the bonnet.. dont skimp and earth to the bull bar or similar..make the positive fused from the battery and minimum of 5mm...also dont use "scotch locks", in a wet enviroment they're nothing but trouble, try and solder if posible... should only be an extra couple of bucks and small amount of time but they will be hassle free...
If at first you dont succeed.. get a bigger hammer
