The Jabber Renaissance Project - SAS

Post by Bitsamissin »

Well angle grinders and cold chisels have been in contact with my IFS front end.
The bulk of it was removed yesterday (not without drama) and Blair (Noisey) was on standby with a trailer to take away the goodies for his swb :D
Only the upper wishbones left to come out then the chassis rails are cleaned up (all IFS mounts removed etc).
I'll try and post pics as Cheezy progresses, can't wait

There is a problem with the forum atm with posting pics the administrators are trying to fix.
Basically we are still waiting for the front housing to come back to finish the front.
The front chassis rails are all ground back and it looks naked.
Another thing to is the factory front crossmember gets replaced with a custom one mounted between the chassis rails. This will give a lot more front clearance as the factory one hangs down about 2" or so.

Exactly... lol.

Frank if you dont take a ton of pictures I will hate you for ever. :bad-words: ;) ;) :D :D :D

Now when you say diff flip you didnt flip the diff upside down did you. I am thinking you just took the longside axle and swaped sides in order to get the pinion on the right side.

I cant wait to see how you do the coil front. I might be using it as starting point in a year or two.

Frank, I will host all the pictures on my website for you, plus an writeups you want to do. Think about it, I have all the space in the world, unlimited pictures of the build up.

I have offered to do the same for other people that have unique trucks.

www.bentidler.com is the address, it isnt up to speed yet but it is going to be the same site as monterooffroad.com that I used to have before it crashed and I lost all the files.

G'day Dougie.
The front diff was re-tubed to move the pinion to the left hand side and the knuckles cut & rotated.
The forum has lost the ability to post pics from PC's for the time being and my ISP provider has recently decided that you can't link to your free webspace anymore. So at the moment I have no way of posting pics.
There are only 2 pics so far of the stripped front end and ground back chassis rails I'll send them to you so you can post them up.
Cheezy says they will be full steam ahead on monday so the pics will start to come.
I think you will be impressed how he sets up the 5 link front a lot of comp guys are now using this system for high speed stability and extra flex with great results :D
You can check out his comp buggy and examples of other work on his website (the link is in his post above).

Well if you can email me what ever pictures you get, email them to me and I will host them.

If your email host wont let you send them email me your personal email, and I will send you an invite to gmail. Then you can send 20mb files, and store up to 1 gig.

Frank,

Did you get the knuckles rotated to change pinion angle or are you going to deal with that "on-truck"?
