How do you get the crankshaft timing belt sprocket off the crankshaft?

The darn thing must be glued on.

I need to change the front oilseal.

Any one have a puller that would work in Brisbane.

bolt your pulley back onto it and (GENTLY) tap the pulley with a hammer..


should not have much trouble getting it off

You have taken the key (rectangular bit of metal that holds crank to sprocket drive alignment) out ????

Fit a very good quality socket and bar to it and wind the starter over. Leave some room for the bar to get some kinetic energy going though.
Make sure the bar won't break any thing, that is allow it to hit something solid.

So is it normally this tight?

My MX-5 and most other cars I've worked on just slid off.

Does the woodridge <SP> key slide out on the vitara.
