Okay finally got it running today.What a biatch. We had dramas getting it to run for the last three weeks we have been chasing the right diagram to work out why.
We could get it to crank and fire but wouldn't run.
When we fitted the engine we used a Vitara cam so we could run the right angle drive disi.All seemed okay.When we tried to start it we could only get 4 pulses from the ignitor .
We tried different disi's ignitors power supplies everything.
Even the plug on the Baleno loom matched the vit disi.
Decided to go out to Suzisport and have a look at another one out there that they had.
Went through all the wiring everything was spot on.
Decided as a last resort to have a look inside the standard disi.After we had already decided it must be the same inside as Vit.
Took the cap off all looked the same then :shock: :shock: I noticed there was an extra tooth on the shaft. It was a TDC reading for the Computer.
As the computer does all the timing map as well it needed this signal.
Ended up building one disi out of the 2 and low and behold it runs. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Bigsteve Suzisport were selling the whole conversion for just under $2000

Joe at 4Play just did a 1.6 Baleno swap !!
with the 4 individual igniter packs !!
(Jimny inlet manifold bolts straight on !!)
so you can fit it under the bonnet , NO BODY LIFT !!! :D
havent heard how well that goes yet !!

Are you running a Microtech? or standard ECM?
Had a similar problem with mine, had to send Microtech my dizzy and ECM to them to reconfig.

No we used the factory ECU.
Havn't driven it yet still have to put the transfer in. Will do it over the weekend. Will probably leave the Blower off until engine is run in.

Took it for its first spin last night.Went really well for about 2 km then stopped rather rapidly. :oops: :oops:
Pulled rocker cover off thismorning to have a look.Some idioooot put the headgasket on backwards so there was no oil getting to the head hence the cam seized in the head. :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops:
Now it is time for a new head and cam.
Hope I get it all back together by the weekend to go to put up.

I would expect you would have taken more care with a costomers car anyway. Does this mean you will get a custom cam grind?

I had my head rebuilt and they broke a heap of other things which they didn't both telling me about so I couldn't prove they did it. eg: vac hose on the carb, they broke the metal end coming from the carby. they didn't tighten the hose clamps from the heater to the motor and a heap of other things (you know the one that is really hard to get at).......I was pissed to say the least. Sense then I have done all the work myself so it's most probably even dodgier now :armsup:

No we will just get a standard cam. The blower doesn't need anything different.
We take as much care as we can . No body is perfect and mistakes can happen but we would take respnsibility and rectifie the situation.

New head is on all is good drives very smooth and plenty of torque.

When will you should be testing the engine with the blower installed???

1995 lwb gq patrol 2.8 litre turbo diesel.
fairly standard for now cept a mostly rebuilt motor and front diff!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
