ffs man.... spend the 15 bucks @ supercheap and buy a ball joint seperator

to give you a *nix type analogy...

smashing f%ck outta it with a hammer is akin to...

kill -9 apachePID

using a ball joint seperator is akin to...

apachectl stop

both of them work..... but one is a little more delicate :D

I found this thread quite amusing - especially when on day two of the thread I discovered I had to remove my pass side tie rod end. I went and bought the tool. Separated the relay rod end just fine - tool ended up in four pieces trying to do the steering knuckle end !!!!

Solution - BFH

sometimes kill -9 PID is the only thing that will work !!

yeah as it turns out, my diesel fitter mate came over, and asked me to show him what the drama was, i showed him, he laughed at me, and said "no, belt it you f*ckin wussy" so i gave it an almighty flog and viola! out she came. so as it turns out, i have weakish little girl arms and swing like a biatch.

i dont recommend buying the seperator from supercheap, we got one a few months ago for a mates 45 and it broke part of it is cast and it just cracks in half. if the joints really stuffed just wind the nut on and try hitting from under, but usually cracking on the side like others said is the way to go, all elso fails get ya jack n put the wieght of the car on it, all else fails light match n walk away.

hehehe in the end, it was an incredibly easy task, but as it turns out my little IT keyboard fingers didn't make the cut.

as always, i applaud the help of the o/l crew, saving me dorrahs and learning me at the same time :D
