You wont get any noticable gains in performance. About the only benifit you get is they can be cleaned and re-used.Dodger wrote: Just askd on another site.

I have a kn as the pre cleaner element, with a finer filter as the main element. The kn keeps the finer filter element cleaner, and the kn is a whole lot easier to keep clean than the foam unit. You can stick an old stocking over the kn to keep the really big clumps out of the fins.
Built, not bought.
