You wont get any noticable gains in performance. About the only benifit you get is they can be cleaned and re-used.

I bit the bullet and stuck one in my EFI GQ about a month ago.
Noticed a marginal improvement in economy, but only in ideal conditions...ie cruising on highway etc.

No noticeable performance gains that I can tell.

Mine improved the low down power on the 3litre RB30.
Then I f@rked it up by installing a snorkel and lost the gains.
They were quantative gains as well ie Dyno.

Probably work out good in the long run $ wise, but I have used these on road cars and found that very fine dust would get through (this happened on 3 vehicles), so will go for a foam filter next time.

The only reason to get one would be so that you can clean and reuse, and i've heard that finer filter works better at keeping dust out.

Depends.....Ive got LPG with a impco system on my GQ, and it made a pretty decent difference when i pt the K&N on, better economy and more power, ... revs a bit quicker.

I agree here.

I have a kn as the pre cleaner element, with a finer filter as the main element. The kn keeps the finer filter element cleaner, and the kn is a whole lot easier to keep clean than the foam unit. You can stick an old stocking over the kn to keep the really big clumps out of the fins.
Built, not bought.
