Rock Sliders

Post by Micka »

Thought I should do something about these things
Image

So I decided to have a go at welding and make my own. These ones a two 65x65x3mm square hollow section welded together with a 3mm flat plate welded to the underside...
Image

Two of the mounts. Have to finish the rest off...
Image

I think I need a bigger trolley jack  ...
Image

A brush bar will mount onto these and help try to keep the Creepies sort of legal  ...
Image

Will post up some more pics when I have them all painted and pretty :smilecolros:

Mika,

put them lower, when you drop it hard on some rocks you won't be able to open the doors when you bend them.

Thanks for the tip, boys ;)

I did the mounts again and dropped the slider by 10mm. I was still grinding and welding at 10pm the other night so I could have them finished for the WE ROCK weekend. I forgot to take some pics of them all nice and shiny...they are gloss black underneath all of this.

Image

You can just make out some black :P

They are the perfect size to fit a beer on too :D

When I get around to cleaning it, I'll post some clean pics.

Thanks for posting up the pics of yours, Steve. That's what got my finger out of my arse to make them.

I'm seriously considering making a full exo-cage for it now. I am making brush-bars for the front that will incorporate flares, and after looking at it closer, there is no reason why I couldn't do the same for the rear and then continue the tube up and over the thing.

Will post pics as I do it.
