just another question fellas do i have to trim the bups stops down my self or can i buy low profil ones at any 4wd shop

Your must have been all old and hardened. I used a cheese spreader.

Bloody hell, I had to use a friggin chunky saw blade and continue to lubricate it all the time. They were extremely tough!

I plucked mine and used a hacksaw. I replaced the bolts in mine with high tensile countersunk bolts for better clearance and less noise over the fast stuff. Those bolt heads sure make a racket when they're bouncing off their metal stops!!!

Do you remember what M# bolts they were? I would like to do that on my truck truck. Too bad that hardware stores here in the states never have things like that on hand.

Sorry for being a bit slow Doug. I think the threads were M8 x 1.25 and about 20mm long. I used 5mm cap screws, also called Allen head screws. Hope this helps mate.

I win i used an angle grinder and conpletly smoked out hte neighbohood looked like i did a massive burn out mmmmmmmmmmm burn rubber burn
Cut down Sierra cab on extended LWB chasie running, Hilux front and Bundy back, with a 4AGZE should be finished about umm soon. A 60 Series work truck and some go fast toys too.

How much can you trim the bump stops down by? I've heard that you can't trim the lower stops, is this true?

Be great if someone could post some pics so I could get a bit of a clue.

DirtyPaj I believe it's 15mm you cut off, and you'll probably need low profile allen key bolts so you're still bumping steel onto rubber rather than steel onto steel. And it's not good to cut down your lower bump stops because they absorb the force of the wheel travelling upwards which is when the weight of the car has to be taken into account. The upper bump stops only need to be able to handle the weight of wheel assembly.
