moving front diff forward

well i have to do anythink to the steering or any other mobs if i move the diff forward 30mm??
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set

but why so much? most GQs etc move 12mm to clear 35's...

Be coz I need just enouth room to fit the 33’ and I think 30mm will do it with now mods I hop
So while I do the front hubs I will do the springs at the same time

i too am looking at moving my front diff forward in my GQ the things i can see being affected is your parnhard rod and steering arm the question is how far can the diff be moved forward befor it affects these things

also maybe in your case you will to look at your shocks and springs

If you're talking IFS it wouldn't be worth the hassle.

Upper & lower wishbones, diff mounting, and steering, and suspension would all have to be moved

i'am working on 85 hilux and wondering with the diff moved forward 30mm if i have to do anythink for the steering or will it be ok

You will need to shorted the torque rod and steering arm. Other than that everything else should be fine.

The distance was discussed recently in the Nissan Area. 12mm seems to be the general consensus. 15mm causes panhard issues.

Hilux allready has a second hole 35mm rearward on the drivers side (I think) just drill a hole in the other perch the same and move the diff forward No problems with anything except having to shorten the top arm.

what about the steering??
can't remember if we lengthened the steering arm as well (I don't think so) I think the box copes with it. Might have to re-align the steering wheel though.
