After being involved with Woodpecker for the past 9 years I would have to agree with you. It had it all, fantastic weather, top drives, top team work, top track, top venue. It is the best event on the 4wd calendar. We had 88 vehicles this year & we still got them through before dark even though we had 4 rollovers. Well done once again to hard working On All 4's 4wd Club members.Madmac wrote:that was the best woodpecker ever, well done to all members of on all 4s club, i have just uploaded about 60 pics, they can be viewed here

Twas a good weekend from a spectators point of view for me, hopefully I'll get a drive in it next year
I've just put together all the video i got from the weekend (1 hr 31mins of it) and will edit it into a shorter (10min or so) clip and post it up tonight hopefully
I did miss alot of good parts like the yellow rover rolling multiple times but theres a few other good parts i did manage to get videoed

Thanks On All 4's
To the On All 4's Club, but particularly the folks who set up the track and ran the event,
Thank you very very much for such a fantastic day. It was awsome. Being part of it has confirmed my love for this sport and I look forward to the next comp.
Being the last car through made for a long day, but it was worth every second.
I was really proud to be a part of the Just Cruizin' Club. The team was awsome. Navies were left to be the only one guiding the drivers and the rest just got the job done. We came second on points and 3 of our trucks are the ones we drive to work every day........
Thanks to all,
Cam

Congrats to all the winners, there were some awesome performances! both individual drives, and teamwork. there were some great team efforts going on, with people running everywhere to a plan to get their guys through.
As usual some come away disappointed, but there's always next year
This years was the best I've seen, the weather was beautiful, the track spiced with new challenges, interesting but not dangerous mishaps and well behaved crowd. perrrrfect
To those who weren't there, you missed a fantastic day.
Special thanks to the crew, the hardworking marshalls on Sunday, and all our volunteer helpers, but especially to the guys who put many hours into setting up the tracks for everyone to enjoy. they are an extremely dedicated small group of people without whom Woodpecker would never happen. Thanks guys, you did a great job

SO regarding the track..... Does anyone think it was easier later in the day due to the track being packed up so much? or easier earlier in the day when it was fresh??
i think when our 2nd team went through there was almost nothing to pack, so easier then??? what do you guys think??

Owner of 2 FJ40's, 1 for hard offroading with no roof and 1 for on road cruising with a roof.. perfect!
Different sections of the course were made easier in the afternoon, over the cars for example, some like the fan of logs at the beginning got harder as the mud was dug out.BIG ZOOK wrote:SO regarding the track..... Natural courses, ie. dirt, mud, rocks, etc change throughout the day, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. You have to expect it. All part of the fun.
