Looks well built.

I definitely think this design is better that the more common design using a single trailer hub as the pivot.

Yeah, i used nylon bushes rather than bearings. I loosely based it on a MQ nissan one. Its held shut with camlocks and pins to stop the camlocks rattling loose (not that they ever have). Its also handy to have access to a powdercoating shop :D

It is very similar to mine, it works well and the friction stops the squeaks.

I will be galvanising mine. Have made all the bushes and sleeves already, just have to weld it all up. Where did you get your latches from?

Yours looks seriously solid Ash - what do you mean about friction? what on what?

I borrowed them from work. They use them on welding jigs. dunno where they get them from, but they come in heaps of sizes and go by the name camlocks (sp). I dont know if this is a brand or generic name.

Yeah, it has to be, only one pivot point so has to be strong. The friction is from how tight I have the nut.

That was in the origional idea, but its now on the to-do-list. Along with the sound proofing, long range tank, LPG, Baby seat holder, safari roof, snorkels, HIDs, side rails, external cage, Def brake MC, taller high range transfer gears, water tank, Rear air locker.........
