High mount brake shaft!!!!

Post by chpd 80 »

Need to remove brake shaft from high mount to put in drilled and
tapped shaft.
What is the easiest way to get shaft cap and shaft out.?

Was planning on hammer and brass punch, but am having trouble
getting the inside cap off before punching out the shaft :x

Any ideas??

ps. the cap I'm talking about is one on the drum/motor side of the housing.
What could possibly go wrong????

inside there is a piece of steel that locks it in remove that and it should slide out with some assistance as you need to push the seal out aswell.

Thanks heaps mate, now I know how it works. Pressed off steel
ring and shaft came straight out, no need to get end cap off.

Thanks again.
