LJ70 Bundera Transfer

Post by BundyMonkey »

I am wondering if a landcruiser Transfer Case can be used in a LJ70 Bundera and the vacuum engage system transfered over? as I have a major crack in mine and tracking down one is quite hard as they are rare as hens teeth

I had a look at the difference between my fj73 and my mates Bundy (both with the vacuum engage) and the transfer cases look identical on the outside prob just a different housing at the front of the case.

If you want to change non-vacuumed case, then old HJ60 whole transfer case is your choice, gear ratio and middle axles size is bit different than LJ70 transfer case, but all those can be modified to fit.

They are the same transfer. You can use one from a mid wheel base landcruiser or even any from the early 70 series cruisers. However your internals may be slightly different as far as inputs are concerned. The LJ70 has the best transfer ratio of all of them. Don't be put off from tracking them down they are still fairly common but there is a lot of mis information out there as far as bunderas are concerned, best of luck
