hi all,

i always here info about sierra's about how the diff height is the same on 33's as a patrol on 35's ect.
but i have never heard anything about vitara diff's. are they the same as sierra's or are they different?
for example a vitara on ....'s is the same as a ........ on ....'s????( fill in)

IIRC, ground clearance on the older Vits in stock form is around 200mm.

You can do the sums from there as far as increases with larger tyres and comparing things with Patrols, etc. Try Google for specs...

vitara diffs are a fair bit bigger than sierra.

They can be shaved pretty hard though.

From my measurements a sammy diff housing is 22cm dia and a vitara is 24cm . So only a loss of 10mm , less that 1/2 inch , in clearance .

When I was setting the vitara diff up in the buggy it was not worth shaving as I would not get more than 5 mm . The diff sits flat at ride height thou . if teh diff points up you could take a little out of the back of it , but the flange is pretty much at the edge of teh diff .

The old toy axles I had could have a fair bit taken out of them thou :)

ok, i have 235,75, r15's and would like to know what size tyre does a cruiser/ patrol have to have to have the same clearance?
