mounting gauges in a GU...
i had some guages left over from another car and i decided to make a couple of pods for the GU
so i went to the local bunnings and got myself 2 x 50mm PVC 90degree bends.
these fit the gauges perfectly
cut the PVC to size
checked the position
pulled out the pillar cover and drilled a 54mm hole with a hole saw
54mm was big enough for the PVC to fit snugly
test fitted the pillar cover and marked the position for the second gauge
repeated the process for the second gauge
and fitted them again to the ute.

the mechanical oil press guage is just a stand in for the time being..ill be replacing it with a pyrometer as soon as i fing one in celcius and not farenheit.
i learn my lesson in the old car where the oil gauge leaked into the dash....NEVER AGAIN!!

well they are almost finished.
the gauges were fitted to the painted pods
and the pods were fitted to the pillar
and from the drivers point of view
im going to drive around tomorrow and if i like the way the gauges are positioned (i can still ajust the angle and height) then ill pull the pillar cover out and plastic weldand adhere the pods to the pillar cover.
