engine mounts

I have tried the aftermarket mounts and the one i used gave a engine vibration thru the whole car, really badly. So replaced it with a genuine one and have done some hard driving with it for 3 years now and not a problem.

Yes it will fit but you need to cut a fair bit out of your bar which will weaken it. I reinforced mine with 6mm plate and gusseted either side of the winch mounting holes as well. As well as old mate showed you with the grille.

If its the 160 dollar one they are useless. I removed a old as OME one and put the RTC one on and it got the shakes. I put the old OME one back one and no shakes. I got the RTC one rusting under my house. I wouldn't even sell it for fear it would end up chucked through my front window.

Yes zagan the only time i will touch near 10 mm steel is when i weld in new engine mounts for the chev. But they may be 6mm or 8mm depending on design. Most of the time it will be under that. Body steel, 3mm bar work. Usual stuff.

Thanks for all the feedback. All the welders you have recommended i agree are good welders. I looked at the migomags today. the monomig 215 compact has great looking build quality, cast alloy wire feeder parts, all high quality, but not cheap at $1710 inc. duty cycle of 30% @ 200 amps. Cigweld ...

Migs, Liquidarc or Cigweld, Migomag.

Ok i know there are lots of talk bout which mig you all like. Unimig seems to be popular on this board, maybe its pricing maybe not. Liquidarc is made in Sydney, thats a plus to me. Cigweld is made in Malaysia. they are priced exactly the same in the 220 range. Liquidarc Easymig $1575. Cigweld ...

They are an easy job. Best to do one side at a time. You may need to push the wheel forward to get the bolts back in cause the are a bit longer than standard arms. Also you may need to take one bolt out of the opposite side to get the diff rotation to get the bolts back in. You wont know your car ...

Castle exhaust block huggers for gen 3 to GQ. Comments.

Do you or have you had experience with Castle Exhaust block hugger headers to suit gen 3 into GQ. Do they fit? Are they good quality? Do they allow easy cross over under the sump to run the drivers side across to the passenger side? Thanks, Nik.

No just make sure when you fit it that you lean the pump in from the top down so you feel the pump arm compress against the lobe. You should feel a slight springy feel to it as you push the pump flush against the block. Let me know how you go.

Under the cam means the reaction arm on the fuel pump can be fitted to the underside of the lobe it runs against, and it will break. Glad you worked it out.
