My V6 Frontera is very sensitive to the condition of the air filter. On the Cape trip I got 13.5-14lt/100km up and 17lt/100km return with a dirty filter. Check the air flow metre for crap also.

If you find an answer coudl you let me know. My 99 manual F is getting worse despite air filter and better flowing exhaust. Friend of mine did some tinkering with the base idle and that improved things by 1 lt/11km. But it developed a rough idle problem after replacing the clutch and hasn't ...

Wouldn't the principle be the same as a ratio box for an electronic speedo? VDO make one (I have one on my Frontera) and I think TJM are selling an electronic ratio box now too. It was in 4WDmonthly a few months ago.

Dazz, its a wierd feeling deliberately drilling a bloody great hole in the pride & joy isn't it. I didn't really know if the Rodeo snorkel was going to fit the F so it was an expensive mistake if it didn't work. The mInister for War and Finance was most supportive :x

HAve you had any luck Warren. I contacted Calmini about a set of their manula hubs and they referred me to USA4WD I think it was (Perth?). Emailed them but never got a reply. Looking to reduce fuel consumption and avoid hard work if I do a CV or front diff.

Been on hls out west so haven't seen this until today. I fitted a snorkel to my Frontera without a template (becasue no-one else would risk it). Used a 92 Rodeo diesel snorkel and would expect that fitting one with a template would be pretty easy. One thing that did bother me was the size of the ...

I have thought about it for the 3.2 Frontera, however I was advised against it by an engine re-builder in Redcliffe because he says the valve seats won't last. The Rodeo had a factory gas option at the time I was thinking about it though.

If ARB have the same attitude they had when I got my kit from them, you'll find the shocks have the same travel as the original ones. THerefore after ifting it 2" you'll effectively have 2" less downward travel. Htis caused me ...

The clunking noise you can hear is the body mounts. The mounts are soft and flex too much. When the body flexes the steel tubes in the front mount can sit on each other making the second mount under the front floor pan clunk as it separates and returns. I was told by Holden it was the torsion bars ...

My Frontera was the only one to go to the Cape unscathed last June also. To be fair the Patrol only had tyre probelms (the only ones on the trip) and the old 60 broke an aerial mount on the bullbar. The Prado ratteld to bits and the Bravo did a CV.

Bacdef,
Try a wrecker. I saw one in perfect nick a few months ago for $200. Don't worry about water too much. It wasn't a probelm up the cape in water up to the bonnet as long as you don't stop. Isuzu ignition electrics are preety good.
