Re: Tough Tracks Outlaw Comp Sunday 28th Nov
Mine is still a way off being completed. Every time I start to get ahead on it, something else comes up to distract me. Hoping to have a bit of a run at things over Christmas. In any event, don't plan at this stage to get back into competing as my new rig is being built as a social wheeler and not ...

While my new rig is not being built as an outright comp rig, I might do a round or two for giggles if this class was introduced.

Re: 80 Series Diffs under a lux truggy
That comment from Greg was directed at me and a conversion I had done years ago, and not at nissan diffs in general. My last comp rig was an 80 series and I blew more front centres than I care to remember. I grafted a GQ centre into the 80 front using a GQ centre, airlocker and machined 80 side ...

80 Series Diffs under a lux truggy
I know its been done before but I cant find any real decent answers to my questions.
I can get hold of some late 80 series diffs with Airlockers pretty cheap and was thinking about putting them under my lux truggy. I will also like to use the 80 series steering in the lux as well to get power ...

Try leaving it turned upside down for a few hours. Dont just flip it over for a few minutes. I used to leave mine upside down for about an hour before I was going to use it on gas.

Well this was the last comp for me. I'm getting out of the sport all together. It was a great weekend for my last comp. I would have loved to have done better for the weekend, but I really enjoyed the company of the other competitors and the layout of the tracks.

80 series dramas ---- HELP NEEDED
Been having some dramas with the 80 lately. 1HZ Diesel 80 (aftermaket turbo)
Problem 1
I took out the sub tank when I did the ute conversion and just blocked off all the plumbing for the sub tank as I was always going to remount the tank later. Never had any fuel dramas from then. Recently I ...

I could have sworn mine were slightly different. I think from memory the top and sides lined up the same, but the bottom was different angles and swapping them over worked out better. When I chopped mine, I used the front 1/3rd of the rear doors and moved the C Pillar forward to form the rear ...

I've done mine and not yet had a problem. I just did the 100 series studs, cone washers etc and left the dowels standard. No dramas yet and they have been hanging in for three years with 36 and 38 tsl's. I dont think there is enough meat to replace the dowels with anything decent. But the bigger ...

Is anyone keen to share how much approximately it cost from start to finish including tray? Engineering? & How much work did you do on it? Either dual or extra cab.
Em
I did mine myself with a few mates and I dont think it cost more than $1500 all up

Re: Just got some 4.55 diffs fitted to the 80
After much consideration i used precision gears from the states. We'll see how long they last...................
I went with Motive Gear 4.88's when I did mine. I got three years of hard flogging out of them on 36" TSL's before I eventually broke the front (rear is still going strong). But I ...

I think youve got it in one Ausyota. Sounds very much like the brake proportioning valve. Could have air in the valve or as said in the last post, it could be that the rod is bent or out of adjustment. When I did the ute conversion on my 80 series, I had to muck around with the valve to get the rear ...

Tony, basically the reason I went this path is to try and keep it semi road friendly and to the eye, standard(ish). I also wanted to be able to run toyota axles, CV's etc etc. As soon as the money tree recovers a little, I will go Cromo Longs and axles.
