I need to put a speedi sleeve on the front crank seal on my 2.8
My manual has been loaned out and I cant get to it for now.

I need the speedi sleeve no, or crank measurements/ dimensions for choosing said sleeve.

Hope those who have done so have kept those details and can help me.

Back one gear, less load on motor, higher rpm, less fuel, then temp comes down.

I recently changed the rear wheel cylinders on both sides as well as the brake shoes. I have bled the system 2 times starting from the master cylinder then to rear left etc etc as according to the manual.

Take it to a truck tyre repair place, they do sidewall repairs all the time if the tyre can be repaired.

Safe, legal, and should last the life of the tyre.

I would be checking your earths.

Do you have one from your battery to chassis??
if so, take it off and clean it to make sure you have a good earth.
When you get wierd voltages making different lights work, and not work, its most likely a bad earth, the resisitance is too high, and electrickery ...

So how is it working now mate??

What has happened is the precomp has had cracks in it and the lost ist interference fit with the head. It has been allowed to move and eventually caused this damage.


I would be pushing very hard for warranty.

How long since tyres were rotated?

This is normal heel-toe wear for bulky treads. different tyres will do it to different degrees on different vehicles.
However ALL tyres on ALL vehicles WILL do it.

To fix, rotate your tyres.

Minor things will change the effect, such as shocks and alignment etc ...

Most likely cause is a wiper motor that needs a few drops of oil on its bushes.

Have come across quite a number now that responded well to removing the motor.
Often no more than 3 bolts, earth wire, and pop out the knuckle joint from the wiper mech, remove cover, and a few drops of light sewing ...

Its just a breather.
If you fit extended diff breathers, and gearbox breathers, dont forget to fit an extended breather to the fuel tank as well, put it on the opposite side of the filler up behind the cab.

Most often you can damage the diodes in the alternator.
The alternator creates an ac current, the diodes convert it to DC

Thats my suggestion.

Take it apart, test with a multimeter, rekon you have a fried diode or 2.

We got a 47lt evakool, and a 20lt icecool icebox.
Works out as freezer, fridge, and crisper.
Transfer frozen 1.25lt bottle every day or 2nd day into the icebox, and also the days chilled beers are still chilled the next day in the icecool.

Great for space, and excellent on power usage, 2.5 amps/ hr ...

take the wheel off, take the stalk high/ low internals apart, clean contacts, fit with new grease, and you should be fine.
After doing this, fit a decent relay so your switch is no longer running high current, and you will be fine for years of trouble free service.

Are you using the sr5 oil pressure gauge, or a calibrated screw into the block type, and what are the pressures at idle, and at 3000rpm.

they should be for a DIESEL 3L 2.8ltr

idle. more than 30kpa
3000 294 to 539kpa.

Let us know if there within those specs.

If you do a search, you will find alot regarding cem oil flush, and other advice, which may damage your motor using diesel instead of oil.

When I got my hilux, I did an oil change, ran for a few hrs, change again, another run, change again, run next day, change it, and then after a week changed it ...

Regarding the leak, is it a diesel leak, or coolant?

Re oil use, it could be that due to poor servicing, the oil control rings are sooted and jammed up.
some good maintainence should begin to address that.
Re glow plugs.....replace them.

Re starter motor, remove, clean and refit before spending ...

Mate, get some safety glasses, and go down to a car wash place, and hit the front hubs till they have no more mud gunk on them.
Will make it a whole lot easier to follow above info.

Are you asking if there internal, or external for your vehicle?

the 4x4 diesel 90 model will be a 70a internally regulated alt.
