The circlips come in different thickneses as they are supposed to be a selective fit to control end float of the CV.

Maybe you need a thinner one?

If it has been running gear oil, i would stick to that and try to find the real cause of the problem (remember it was ok before it stuffed up). My guess is the problem is in one the front hub bushes and or a wheel bearing.

There are a couple of super brackets inside, so weight isn't on door skin.

The other good thing with this setup is the increased volume of the shock, for fade resistance, ace on corrugations.

best to use a forklift or similar to load up the front of your car and then see if the coils bind before the bumpstop is hit or not. if your coils have one extra turn in them than standard then extending bumpstops down by the diameter of the spring (19mmm ?) should do the job. it is a close thing ...

80 series shocks

Do not just bolt them in ! I have 80 series Konis in my GQ and you need to fit spacers to the upper shock mount or else the shock will "top out" and break. this depends on what lift you have, but if you have a 4 plus inch lift you can use about a 30mm spacer as the coils bind before you hit the bump ...

A few more tips for the job. You need to copy a lsd plate, including the "ears", if you dont include these it wont sit right , it is tricky to cut material this thin , be carefull !! i used a holesaw for the middle hole and then cut the outside with a thin cutting disk on the angle grinder. I bought ...

is any different to a ute?

A ute (as long as it looks factory) is a ute

why would this not be ok?

If the angle of your diff is not factory (castor or pinion angle at rear) then the fill level will be wrong.

i usually squeese a bit more in to allow for this.
