I think you will find if you put the car in low range it will stop rolling.
Maybe get the drums machined and some new pads (possibly doesn't hold because its shiny and hard pads? bit of a guess)
Mine does the same, in 2wd 1st gear it rolls a foot or two at a time but in 4wd low, 1st it doesn't roll.

Yep have tried the fuel types, will check the dizzy cap it's relatively new so thinking that won't be it. But won't rule it out. By bearing on the shaft, do you mean center bearing on transfer case? Because I am leaning towards that being the problem, there is a lil bit of movement there and it ...

87 hilux noise under acceleration.

Hi, Car is an 87 Hilux d/c. 4y-c Recently in the last month or so my car has developed a pinging noise when accelerating. At idle and when backing off the accelerator at any speed the noise is non-existent. It is the same noise that the car makes when in a gear too high for a hill, if that makes ...

For anyone who cares;

Just took the old cable out took maybe 5 minutes lol

I'm guessing the new cable will come with the protective sleeve too? because otherwise I got no idea how to connect the ends of the cable they look stamped on which would definitely be something I couldn't do haha

Burson at Brendale QLD reckons they only have accelerator cables for 4wd hiluxs up to 1984... EDIT: confirmed at a different store they recommend I try Toyota themselves. And supercheap don't do em at all. Guess I'll go with the one from Repco Lawnton. EDIT: For a bit of fun I called Repco Enoggera ...

Accelorator cable replacement

Changing the oil yesterday I noticed my accelerator cable was frayed in the visible section of it :? As I need to get this done relatively quickly so I can use my car, I booked it in to the Garage, they ordered the part and all before I asked for a quote so I would feel bad for cancelling now, but ...

Ok I get ya. The pin bit on both the steering arm and the little plate at the bottom. The kingpin goes through the inner race of the bearings top and bottom, keeping the bearings in place. Speaking of which, how do people without the SST usually go about pushing the kingpins out of the bearings ? Or ...

They are the top and bottom bearings in your swivel hub. Should be fairly easy to tell if you jack the car up and see the whole swivel hub is moving which if your J arm is moving I'd say it is. Get the hub rebuild kit with swivel bearings and you will have fixed your leak as well. Ok, Should I ...

Should definately not be any up or down movement at all. From what you are describing you have very loose wheel bearings and/or loose/worn/collapsed king pin bearings (trunion). Pull it apart and fix asap, definately do not drive on it as is. Very dangerous and likely to damage alot of parts if you ...

87 Hilux noise from drive components

Hey all, quick question.. I have a noise coming from under my car, its kind of a scratchy noise, not a constant noise but a scratchy noise on something that obviously revolves.
