VL turbo? RB25 turbo? RB20 turbo? Those are all T3 Or mitsubishi TD06 turbo they have a weird mitsubishi flange and the compressor housings are also reversed (brilliant mitsubishi idea
) goes well on TD42.

Re: GQ Turbo Fuel Screw
Pyro probe should be before turbo always. Yes 450 to 500 maybe 550 under load sounds about right, with a full exhaust though it will be slightly higher as there is more back pressure. I know this example is a land cruiser but my mates 80 series turbo diesel is running 18PSI with fuel upped to suit ...

Re: GQ Turbo Fuel Screw
Diesel is the opposite of petrol. Leaning a petrol car out will make egt's hotter, more fuel will cool. Where as leaning a diesel out will cool it down, richening will heat gasses up. If you richen up your diesel keep an eye closely on your egt's anything above 650 is not safe. Tow a loaded trailer ...

The pump timing has never been touched, and it starts and free revs way to easy for the pump timing to be out.

GQ Diesel Fuel Issue
Hey guys I have an issue with my GQ 4.2 diesel. It starts, idles and free revs to redline, however under any kind of load it mis-fires blows a f*&% load of white smoke and carries on like a retard. I have tried everything short of replacing the injector pump, the lift pump works fine, the pick up in ...

There is no in tank pump there is a lift pump where the fuel filter is. I changed mine, I now have the glass fuel bowl type. Much better just have to check it for water periodically.

My mate has a petrol 100 series and it tows his HUGE boat no worries. However the turbo diesel 100 series do it much much easier. We headed to Willowglen with a few mates and they had a turbo diesel 100 auto with his comp truck on a trailer with both cars full of camping gear and he was overtaking ...

There is the rust issue.
Stainless is heavy and suffers badly from heatsoak. Once hot it stays hot for a while.
Alloy is the way to go it cools fast and stays cool.

Haha long converted Nissan driver. I love my diesel GQ and it helps that I'm also a mechanic.
Around 45 mins to 1 hour If you know what you're doing. That's being conservative I think mine took about half hour last time, I rushed it a bit though was running late for a wheel in the Wattagans.

Re: AutoElec help needed with Alarm install.
In that case use the same wire to break the ignition power to the fuel stop soleniod on the injector pump then they can crank all day to no avail!
It is hard to immobilise a diesel all you really have to do is pop the bonnet, power the fuel stop soleniod and clash the starter.

Put No 1 on TDC and adjust 1,2,4,5,8,9
Then put No 6 on TDC and adjust 3,6,7,10,11,12
Numbers are valves front to rear
Set them all to 14 thou or 0.35mm all hot.

After pulling mine apart they are actually quite easy, yours is the same as mine just smaller. I picked up a manual for GU by Max Ellery, damn good manual has the exploded view of the starter pretty simple when you can reference to that.

Mine was made with off cuts

Just tidied up the hole afterwars with a bit of half cut rubber hose.
That snorkel cost me nothing at all to make just about 2 hours of time.

Re: AutoElec help needed with Alarm install.
The relay that breaks the wire to the coil could break the wire to the starter (because yours is diesel) works on the same principle it just immobilises cranking? Would be alot easier than trying to wire it into the inhibitor.

TD42 Hitachi starter pinion clutch
Hi,
My starter crapped and is in need of the pinion clutch in the reduction drive gearbox.
Any idea's where to find on or does anyone have a Td42 starter that has also crapped with the reduction drive still good?
Also if anyone has a second hand one I could buy??
Thanks!
