Thanks for the explanation... I understand what your saying with the bump stops and shock mounts. My main point/question was that by limiting up travel you would restrict down travel. I still can't get my head around the if the axle stops upward movement one end, that it can continue to go down on ...

But if you put a 2 inch lift in and 2 inch bumpstop extensions you still have the same amount of up travel. By running longer shocks with your 2 inch lift and minimal uptravel you can get a lot more down travel which will get you your articulation..
Ok..this is where i get lost. Hopefully some ...

Are the replacement air boxes that you get with gq turbo kits as restrictive as the td42t ones... If so i might invest in a 3lt one.

I think your best bet would be to clean it all up with some degreaser, start the car and have someone under the bonnet and determine exactly where the leak is coming from. I have fixed 2 leaks in mine, One on the top cover and one on the bottom of the pump. All for $30. Bought a seal kit from nissan ...

If you spend the extra $$ and get some hella reflectors it's well worth it, bout $50 each from memory. Puts out a much better light. They aren't a sealed beam so you can just replace the bulbs when the die. Good luck with it.

Im sorta lost on the point of the dual cab gig, if you dont have a car with a smashed roof, or rear end.
The tray on the red GQ appears too small to fit much on...

Hey all,
Was doing a bit of reading on the marks 4wd website and toying with the idea of going dual transfer. Now all of the figures i'm using will be for a TD42 and 3.9 diff ratios.
Standard Final drive ratio is 33.58:1
with 85% reduction gears fitted final drive ratio is 62.215:1
Now if i would ...

this truck is running a 4-5" lift and Long-arm rear with superflex front arms. I am still waiting on some new shocks for the front from the USA, so that will help. The long arm rear works awesome, keeps the pinion at a sweet angle all the time, and just plants the tires when you launch it.

I dont think the front and rear shafts would have to be at massivly different speeds. On a dirt road there will be wheel spin, proably so minute you wont even notice it. But this is enough to make the centre diff work hard causing early wear.
You really don't understand how diffs work.

No, it's not true.

What size shocks would you be supplying for the 4-5" flexy coils in the rear of a gq?
