Re: simex extream trekker imitations

HI Guys, I used these on a recent trip to the Vic High Country (Cup weekend). I'm very happy with them. In comparison to Simex ET's and Silverstone X-treme they perform just as well. They seem a bit quieter on the highway, but is probably more because my 100 series has better cabin noise suppression ...

I have used conveyor belt rubber. There was a dealer in Epping (Melbourne) - I know not close to you - but check the phone book. They had various thicknesses and cheap 'end of rolls'.
It's great stuff for making vibration mounts for compressors etc coz it's canvas reinforced.

If you go into Autobarn and look in the car audio section they have lots of high current fuses for the doof-doof guys and their audio power amps. They have an in-line fuse holder with a 250 amp fuse (nice and wanky clear perspex holder with gold plated terminals. I used a 400amp fuse - they are used ...

To make this guage work in my 300 tdi I had to source an even longer probe so that the tip was in the exhaust gas stream. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q196/Ralph_O/TDI%20Tuning/P1140416.jpg Don't ask me where I bought the probe because I didn't - it was ...

Paddosck spares - excellent. I bought a set of 4 that were 4" longer than standard for my Disco. Took about a week to arrive. Cost about $120 inc freight for the set. Stainless braided.
I asked Maltech for a quote - excellent service and response but .... cost about $120 EACH corner.

Convert Manual Disco tdi to auto

Just curious if the zf gearbox from a v8 will bolt straight into my manual? What else needs to be considered? Shifter. Oil Cooler (and pipes). What about the bell housing? I presume the Transfer case just bolts on and there is no change in drive shaft lengths etc. I have a 97 disco with an R380 ...

I suspect that if you choose to lift the body 4" that you will run into other problems like: 1.The steering column shaft will need to be replaced with a longer unit - You can just get away with a 2 1/2" lift and keep the original steering components. 2. Lengthened seat belt anchors. 3. not sure how ...
