Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Looking at this Disco as a camping/hunting vehicle. I will have around 3k left in the budget to spend on it.

This will be my 1st Landy and I know nothing about them.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

If I can't get a mate to weld it up for me, and I end up having to go to an auto engineer or smash repair, do you reckon they will want to have it engineered?

I would like to hear from anyone else that has done this and would love to hear how you went about repairing it.

No-ones going to give you any interest until you give some pricing ideas. I'd also be keen, but again, need a price.

So it looks like the leafy case is going to be the best option for me now, as I just got a price for a new drive chain through a mate who is a transmission mechanic - 465 bucks, trade price!

I have some aftermarket bushes for my trailing arms from suzisport, but the suckers wont press in.

I have completely pressed out the shagged ones (yes I have got the steel outer as well), but the new ones wont press in without tearing off the flange.

Cheers Steve, just getting my options lined up. The best road I think will be to swap over to a leaf case. Will make it a lot easier to fit reduction gears down the track.

So what I thought was my diff was actually the chain in my coily transfer slipping.

So, now I have the coily transfer out, Im not going to bother putting the pos back in.

What I want to know is, will an earlier 1.3 gear driven case bolt up, or will I be changing flanges etc, same as ...

The guy I got it off said it was an arb bar. In fact I even have a reciept for an arb bar.

The gap is from the body lift.

Paint it with line-x tray liner.

Here is my 96 coily with ARB winch bar.

Is it worth disconnecting the swaybars on my coily sierra for offroad?

How badly will it affect my on-road handling? I have a 2inch sus lift and a 2 inch body lift.

If I disconnect them, do they have to come all the way out?

Anyone else done this?

So its the flat head screw on top of the steering box for adjustment, not the nut?

I know that they where optioned with a rear, but this guy at the auto store asked me if the front was the lsd model because if so, I had to get different oil. He was specific, was the front the lsd model.

"Is the rear lsd?"

"Nope"

"Is the front?"

"WTF?"

Apparantly the castrol book has a ...

Went to buy diff oil today and found out that the coil zooks were optioned with an lsd. Is this true and how do I tell if mine has one?

I wish I knew what its like to have lots of money, my breather kit was on the vehicle when I bought it.

Please forgive my ignorance here, but how the hell does the water get in with the breathers fitted? Just sucks in thru the seals? Also, can I get the marine grease from any auto shop, or do I have to get it from a marine supplier?

So - I have an arb diff breather kit, yet somehow water has still gotten into my diffs. Something to do with the stupid amount of time that my poor zook spends in mud and creeks.........

Should I just drop the oil and put in some fresh stuff, or should I strip out the wheel bearings, cv's etc and ...
