The MD system has a buffer tank with several times the volume of the actuator cylinder. Thus pump capacity has very little to do with the speed of the system. With dash mounted Clippard valves, you do not even have to look at the light, you hear a secondary sclooouch when the piston moves and know ...

Do you know what parts he used? I looks like he widened some Volvo rims, but the naked disks do not have eight lugs?

BMW steelies has the same bolt pattern, but won't center on the hub unless you machine an adapter ring. I haven't tested yet, but I think you may be able to run them in 15" due to much less ET. With spacers, worst case. Ooh, and I currently run BFG M/Ts in 265/75-16 on stock alloys. Rubs a little ...

Do you really need to body lift a P38a to run those tyres, especially if you're running longer shocks and presuamably longer bumpstops to suit? Yes, they are too wide to fit within the fenders. 32" is not the issue, I currently have BFG 265/75-16 on stock alloys, and they fit (just). But the other ...

I have identified 8 rubber mounts that would need to be lifted one way or the other, the steering column needs adjustment, and something done with the rubber seal between the top of the radiator and the body. Brake lines maybe. Anything else? I only ...

The other 2 most likely reasons are:

Insufficient preload on the swivel bearings

Worn panhard bushes
Bent trailing arm comes to mind as well.

But castor is the inportant measurement.

The pics show the wedges mounted in the rear. Will they fit in the front ass well? I'm set with cranked trailing arms, but the front is really limited by the bushes.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure that disco was outfitted by Outback Imports in France (it's their logo on the door) and they work with Equipe4x4, which is the original that SR copied, after selling the original for a while. Outback Imports is also the European distributor of MDE stuff.

Quieter because they engage and disengage gradually. Not the noice producing immediate engagement along the full length of a straigth cog. I guess it is the lack of this shockload that helps them survive, too.

Bill, my point is zero bushings. Forced articulation thru the old diff center replaces them. Only problem axial loads need to be relieved from the diff center (which is really the gears for forced articualtion).

This is getting interesting. Soo, by using a diff center to connect the front and rear tripods/torquetubes/whatever, there is no need to offset the front and rear pivot points to accomodate the gear-to-gear design you used previously? Symmetry is good. I like this.

Bill, welding some lengths of square tube to Volvo portal axles, and having them meet up in one single pivot point at a cross member is pretty standard in Swedish prototype triallers. The bolt is not your problem. You need to make very strong connections to both the middle and the rear chassis outriggers, though. It is not enough to just bolt to the endplates of the outriggers. Get some "L" profile and let it overlap the middle outrigger by 200-300 mm and bolt a "U" inside the ...
