I changed the throttle body and all seems good now. The only problem I still have is the idle dropping when I stop for the first couple of stops each time I leave home. It appears to be my charging system drawing too much power when in boost mode?

No it does it when the a/c is off too. I don't need to adjust the idle because the idle is perfect - right on 800rpm.
But even if it wasn't, it still shouldn't be dropping so much whenever I use something electical :?

Oh I just saw your name and realised who you are. Are you "chugga" with the white Feroza?

I do have a/c but would that still happen when its off?
When the air is on the idle goes up and it isn't as bad as when its off.

Ok I've finally had a chance to try all those things. It was a bit out my league (i'm learning how to fix things as they happen on this car but still need help) so I went to a friends workshop.
Tried everything suggested and its not the problem.

I'm using a V6 Camry alternator so it has more of an output than the standard Feroza one and it was put in not too long ago but I will check it today anyway to be sure.

I notice your from SA. Have you been to the Flinders Rangers? I'm going there after Christmas (my first time in SA).

If you still can't find one, I have a 2nd hand one from a 94 wide track Feroza (in Guildford so i'm not far from you). You will just need to have a look and see if it's the same as the one you have now.

Sounds like a lot of work and I don't have the knowledge for all those mods. Also, it's my daily driver so I can't have it off the road for long periods.
So I guess I'll keep the standard Feroza gearbox.

By better gear ratio's I mean shorter gears in the transfer case.

I'm still working on mine and I'm hoping it wont need to be replaced. Should know if it works by the end of tomorrow.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the Feroza gearbox for one with better gear ratio's?

I may need a new gearbox and I just want to know what my options are before buying a 2nd hand Feroza one.

I had the same problem with my Feroza and it turned out to be the clutch fan (not sure of it's correct name). It wasn't spinning when the car was at idle, causing it to overheat whenever I was stuck in traffic.
