Hi again, i ended up getting a pto winch off a 60 series for $500 for the whole thing, and it had never been used. did'nt quite fit perfectly so i did afew mods, shortened the drive shaft, shortened the bullbar mounts (better aproch angle) put a hole through the radiator for the drive shaft ( if i ...

Yeh, i can fit 33"x12.5"x15"s on mine an it has sagged suspension.
You just need the landcruiser offset rims not the pootrol offset. :)

I've heard that the turning circle is not real good either, something to do with the v8 taking up to much room. my mates got one and he cant do a uturn on a five lane road without driveing up the gutters. anyone noticed that????? (or mabe he cant drive :roll: )

Hi all, just cooked the input shaft bearing on my h55f gearbox, melted the shaft so its going to be expensive, I've done abit of searching but cant come up with anything so was just wondering if thats the stongest gearbox for a bj73??? or is there a stronger one, i'm just planning on an engine ...

G'day mate, 31" tyres will help with pickup and fuel ecconomy, but the wheels being smaller will find more holes, whereas a bigger diameter tyre will roll over the smaller holes making the ride abit smoother, letting the pressure down will help smooth out the ride, it will make it harder to steer ...

Hi Rad The stock pins for these winches are tapered copper. On mine I have drilled the pin out so it is parrallel and have fitted a 1/4" piece of copper rod. also keep 2 in the ashtray for the rare time one mite break ( Havent needed one yet) The temtation to use a 1/4 " high tensile bolt is not ...

What sheer pins to use on a pto winch

Hi all, just wondering if anyone could suggest what to use for sheer pins for a 60 series pto winch on a bj73 landcruiser??? i've try'd 4.5mm roll pin but i did'nt think it pulled enough before breaking. would high tensile fencing wire be too "agricultural"???? any suggestions would be great ...

My bj73 did the same thing only while the lights where on, turned out that i needed a cable connecting the earth on the battery to the body and that has fixed it. hope that helps. ;)
