Re: 2H Diesel into a FJ40

Hi Loosecanon. I think it could be called a crossmember. Anyhow managed to buy one from 4wd wreckers in Marigold st, Revesby. Cost $140, what a rip off. Will fit next weekend.

Re: 2H Diesel into a FJ40

Been searching for a while for this rear mount. Seems that HJ47 parts are starting to get hard to come by. I was wondering if perhaps I can use this bracket from a 60 series. I think the 60 series chassis rail is wider so I don't mind modifying as long as its cutting shorter and re-drilling the ...

2H Diesel into a FJ40

I have a rebuilt 2H engine and a split transfer case that I would like to put into my FJ40. My question is that the rear engine supports on the FJ40 are on the bell housing. Whereas the 2H rear engine support is on the underside of the gearbox. Does anyone know if the 3 piece brackets from any other ...

Thanks AZZA FJ40, I will remove the pins to improve downwards flex. Do you know which leafs are used in the upwards flex? Would like just a bit more upwards flex say 50-75mm.

Leaf selection for FJ40

I am about to install fj55 rear leafs on the rear of my fj40. Since a fj55 is heavier than the fj40 I would like to remove a few of the leafs to achieve better offroad ability, more flex. But I still would like to use as daily drive so not to soft. Does anyone have experince with selection of leafs ...

Does anyone have experince with selection of leafs as I dont know which leaves to use. I have one set of fj40 and one set of fj55 rear leafs. Maybe a combination of two will give me what I want, which is good offroad but still drivable on road as I use as a daily drive.

So I need to locate a 60 series damper mount from somewhere and a 60 series damper.
I think I'll just by a new damper. Does anyone recommend a standard or RTC damper.
What about the other end of the damper to the tie rod? What have everyone else used?

Ok. I've managed to order a set of Bushes so I now need to get the springs ready.
So does anyone know what spring leafs should I remove to get good results with flex in mind. I currently have 9 leafs. I'd like to remove the bottom two at leased as they are straight and alot thicker than the rest.

Measured the spring eye with a vernier and it measures 30mm.

It would be pretty good if those datsun 200B wagon bushes work. I will definately try to get to a parts store and have a look as it would be a easy solution

FJ45 2nd fuel tank

I have a fj45 with a 6 cylinder diesel and would like a greater mileage range between refuelling. Can anyone tell me if I should mount the second tank by strapping it to the bottom of the aluminium tray or should I secure it to the chassis rail. If anyone has information would be greatly appreciated.
