as for parts though you can get some sent to you from the states for a jeep, or you could get a toyota and get them within five minute drives from your house. Yeh well aware of how easy it is to get parts for cruisers and patrols but they are twice the price. Still just weighing up my options. Hey ...

Grand Cherokee vs Cherokee

Hey again.

Im just trying to work out the differences between the two jeeps. Im mostly interested in their off-road ability.

1995-2001 is the sort of era im looking at. The car will be modified to do medium to hard 4x4 tracks. Lockers lifts etc.

Thanks for the help.

Hmm thanks mate thats interesting to hear. What I didn want to hear was that it would compare to a Pajero or a Prado or something along those lines. The XJ are currently looking very promising.

More opinions would be great. Thanks mate.

What are the jeeps like

Hey all. Just wanted to know how the jeep Cherokee would compare to the gq gu or an 80 series? I dont really know anything about jeeps so just looking for an idea. They seem to be rather cheap and I can get a Jeep with some leather and a few luxuries that is a 98-00 model for 8-10k. Which is alot ...

Thats interesting as I fit in my brothers wrangler. I would not say with ease but I certainly fit in it. I can deal with that sort of comfort or lack of. Yeh replacing those concrete slab seats that the zooks have would be the first thing I will do to it.

Hmmm how annoying. I really hate having to mod a vehicle just to fit in the bloody thing. I just dont want a patrol that much and the Sierra is such a good 4x4.

How easy is it to mod the steering wheel so that it would be above my knees?

It would totally depend on how difficult these tracks are that you will be on. The Sierra is without a doubt the better car offroad but they are horrible on road. The Vitara is a much more comfortable drive.

I believe my Tom Tom GPS is out. As my Hyundai speedo says Im at 100 the GPS says I am at about 93. I have not really checked but based on the rest of the traffic the speedo seems correct.

Its a 2000 Hyundai so I wouldn think that it would be out by that much mind you it is a Hyundai.

Are older pajeros in the same off road capacity as say the GQ and Cruiser or even the discos?
