Re: Tough Tracks 4x4 Challenge Series-Round 2
Competitors should not have too pay More then we do! We pay to put on the Show dor them to charge to See! It cost us fuel, time away from family, breakages, time of work, etc. Let's face it, I love competing and have rejoined tough tracks so I can but this shits me up the wall. With out us they ...

Re: Auto Trans Heating Under load
Hi Modified Toy,Some great advice thankyou. I'll give all you say a check. I know the TCC works as when it is locked heat will go down on gauge and I can see it on the electronic controller. May have to have a play with the Compushift controller as I think you can reduce the speed when the TCC locks ...

Doesn't feel like it is slipping. Pretty firm feel (lol).
Presumably I could get a thermo cooler from a reputable trans place? Problem may be space. Looks like I'll be having a look this weekend.

Re: Auto Trans Heating Under load
Thankyou.
I'm running Maxi lite trans oil as spec'ed for gearbox.
I had a second trans cooler fitted, original was the existing Patrol. Size of second one is approx 300mm (12") x (9"). Was fitted by supposedly gearbox experts. No fan to coolers only thru air.

Auto Trans Heating Under load
Hi Guys, Have a GU with 6.5 chev fitted and 4L80E trans. Trans works great under normal conditions. When towing up steep inclines she will overheat and the electronics shut the gear box down before damage is done. Also when I'm doing low 4wd stuff she will do the same...so obviously when she's ...

Agreed. Stihl gets my vote. Have 2 x 660's and smaller farmboss. Use them all the time...no problems at alljaztaz wrote:Anything with Stihl written on it.
I used Stihls religiously ....
Something around 50-60cc with a 3/8 chain should be plenty versatile for you.

Re: Clutch solid
bellhousing may be full of mud.? or is it in neutral on the 4wd lever, thats my fav trick to play.pull the boot of the bellhousing where the throwout fork goes in , insert garden hose and turn on tap. this normally fixes it but you may take some time if it has been sitting. watch the colour of the ...

Clutch solid
Had a play in mud and water 2 months ago and have left GQ as it is since then. Went to move it yesterday and wheels turn but when I let out clutch she's solid and will not move. What's the best way to free this? Good ol pull with snatch and another car? Or does anyone have a clever solution?

He'll forever be throwing money at cooling, parts, suspension, parts, cooling, cooling, cooling, cooling. getting the idea? Rubbish. I've had one in my Patrol for 3 years and 60000km and towing 2 ton of van. If it's done properly it's not an issue. Cooling no problem IF you put right rad in. IMO ...

If you have a look at the american mags you will see very few people do much with the old chevy diesel engines. Talk to Brunswick Diesels in Perth.
