Turbo Diesel 100 series with a Dtronic and im not gentle driving it. The KM2's did 15,000kms on a 3.0TD LN106 hilux, then the rest on the 100 series. im just lazy about upgrading the avatar. As for the MTZ's, I wouldnt pay for another set of those with someone ELSES money- After i had a set that ...

Sigh... Turns out that KM2's are next to impossible to find in 285/75R16 around the place at the moment, with even the US experiencing a shortage. At about 77K mine are stuffed- But I cant find a set of 4 in Adelaide, and the two that I can find are $500 a pop, So im forced to look elsewhere as i ...

I've got a 280K km 1HD-T Engine sitting in my shed awaiting a donor crank because it spun #2 and cracked the journal. From this point on once its put back together, its getting a new set of BEB's when the timing belt is done- if your handy with spanners its not a $500 job, bout $150 for the bolts ...

Re: 1kz-te exhust options?

I have a 3" mandrel on my KZN106 hilux- had to be custom built because nothing off the shelf fits when you wedge a surf motor into a hilux.

cost me $1040 and that included fabricating a dump pipe.

I've got a Beudesert on the TD100 series and thats got a cast dump pipe rather than a steel one

jesus christ! how are you driving and what are you doing to them to knock 1.5mm of tread off the KM2's in 5000kms? Mine are up to 67K kms now, and just did a trip up the oodna, across the simpson, down the birdsville, all with a loaded 100 series (3.5T+) and im STILL sitting with about 3mm of tread ...

We've got a set of 235/85R16 MT/Rs on a work V8 79 series cruiser, and ive got 285/75R16 KM2's on my HDJ100. The MT/R's arent as good as the KM2's in sticky mud (KM2's clear out better than the MT/R's without going overboard with wheelspin flick it out) but the MT/R's are a bit better on harder rock ...

Quick update: 56,000kms or so, around 5-6mm depending where you measure it left. Outer lugs have worn a bit faster on their shoulders due to me driving twisty hills roads to work and back. Dump Pipe: The stock cast dump pipe off the back of the turbo is REALLY restrictive. As in taking a leaf blower and putting a garden hose adaptor on it levels of restrictive. It hinders the turbo flow, so it takes longer for the turbo to spool up and it doesnt spool up as low in the rev range ...

I bolted the ARB tent to my roof. it was just easier than trying to squeeze myself and the better half into the rear end of the 100 series, and it also meant i didnt have to unpack half the car to make my bed every night.

While the 1HD-T is out, Flip her over and change out the Big End Bearings. Bolts and bearings are about $170. Cheap insurance if you dont want to pull the head to replace a conrod when a BEB spins.

they are a PRICK to do on the prado- Double race sealed bearings. Old man had to farm his out to a mechanics because we couldnt get em to move with a big engineers vice, big hammer and big drifts.

Werent cheap bearings either- your $190 would be close to an EACH price.

1HD-FTE. Brilliant motor out of the box, Absolute stonker with a chip and exhaust. About the only thing the 1VD has over teh 1HD is the way it comes on torque down low- ive got a work truck with the 1VD and it will just idle up things in high range offroad, and in low range its pretty much ...
