Series3 Rewiring wanted

Thanks again for the replies. I will certainly give the Healey Factory and Hotrodders a go. I hope they don't laugh at me (or my vehicle) but after all,it is a hybrid, hand built (rebuilt) vehicle,so who knows. If you have any contact details that would help but I will try the phone book any way. Now ...

Series 3 Rewiring

I have put a post on the Landrover Club website / forum and had only one reply - referring me to a Commercial Autoelectrician. I have just about given up waiting for another autoelectrical firm who I have used from time to time and who know my vehicle to give me a quote. Hence my posting on this ...

I have a very modified Landrover Series3 SWB Diesel that needs either rewiring or a major revision. Everything works but so much wiring has been added it is a bit of a mess specially behind the dashboard. I have been advised that for reliabilty on outback trips and so on rewiring or similar should ...

Roll Cage

I had an external roll cage fiited to my Series 3 last year by Ray Curry from Fabraications,19 Citrus St. Braeside Ph. 95877772. He did an excellent job and is good to talk to. He does internal cages mainly for rally cars, race cars etc. and he is conversant of course with CAMS regulations. My vehicle ...

Stainless Custom Snorkel

My 1976 Series 3 Diesel Landrover (SWB) has had a custom made stainless steel snorkel for over a year - it was made and fiited by Bill Larman for a very reasonable price and works perfectly.
I would put up a photo if I knew how to.

Bundera

I was offered a Bundera with a Detroit locker so I assume they fit but I was warned strongly by my mechanic who knows diffs intimately not to get the vehicle (because of the Detroit Locker) - uncertain / unpredicable handling characteristics amongst other things.

Where are all the MWB Landcruisers?

The MWB in Sydney was a 'bomb' I can not recommend State Roads who did the inspection too highly. It was an import, had never been registered in Australia and had not been looked after, although it had low KM. It is funny but all the ones I found were in NSW and had low KM - I think somebody must have ...

Where are all the MWB Landcruisers?

You are correct - they seem to be all north. The one I located in Sydney has never been registered in Australia - that is,it is an import - 'gray?' I have told the 'owner' that I will only stay interested if he registers it. There were two others in Sydney, both with similar low KM and in immaculate ...

Where are all the MWB Landcruisers?

Thanks for your reply - I have found a MWB in what is promoted to be immaculate condition - in Sydney - hence my question about none in Melbourne or nearby - Ballarat would have been OK - anyway if the one in Sydney passes scrutiny that will be one (more) in Melbourne. The V8 must have been a ...

Where are all the MWB Landcruisers?

I have eventually found a BJ74 1988 Turbo Diesel in I hope good condition (I will soon know) but why are there none for sale other than in NSW (Sydney) and QLD (Gold Coast). I hunted high and low and not one in Melbourne where I live but half a dozen in those fore - mentioned places. Is it the ...

Engine Driven Compressor

I have an engine driven compressor in my Series 3 SWB - they are modified AC compressors, cost about $300 and are not rare in Melbourne. Fitting them can be tricky - expensive - it is often cheaper to get someone who is good at that sort of thing to make up brackets rather than but them. The company ...

I have never measured my wheel travel but in practical terms I do quite a bit of medium difficulty 4WD with rock, ruts and mud and have not had any more problems than woould be expected from a leaf sprung vehicle - that is it performs preety well.
