Remember the Holden sensors are the same as the ones specified to use with the Megasquirt, after all they are GM. For my Megasquirt I used 2 Holden V6 coolant sensors, one for the coolant temp, one for the air temp (cut off the metal sensor cover). If you could find someone with the Kalmaker softwar...

600 Holley is too big for a 3.5 I tried one on my 4.4 and it was still too big. You can get restrictors for the throats which in effect makes it around 500cfm which was just right for my 4.4, however in the end I gave up tuning the Holley and fitted a Carter AFB which is a 625cfm but they have a dif...

You probably could change the lever but it might be easier to get the switch and other bits for the electronic 4x4 engagement. My BJ74 has the electronic, so I am assuming it's just a matter of adding the harness and switch. I take it the gearbox you transplanted is a 4 speed with an overdrive. If n...

Think I might have shown this before but anyway it's a pic of my P76 with Megasquirt EFI using a GM TBI from a 305 Chev. The reason I went GM TBI was number 1 it was cheap, there are heaps of parts available ex. US, it takes a standard Holley air cleaner (Engine bay looks almost stock), it's easily ...

Check for an LSD sticker on the diff housing. Failing that, jack up the rear end, put it in neutral and turn one wheel. The other wheel should turn in the same direction. If it does, it's an LSD, if it turns the opposite direction, it's an open centre. If it's an LSD then it sounds like it needs reb...

Go for a turbo instead. Why? * It's been done before both factory and aftermarket * Easier to plumb in a turbo than stuff around making brackets and moving accessories around. * If you are thinking one of those cheap Toyota superchargers, they can be really noisy as well. Each to their own I suppose...

Ahhh, now I see, it's all clear now. I had thought the compressor from the small turbo was going to the exhaust turbine of the larger turbo, but now I can see how you can get the adding of boost. As the second stage (small) turbo is getting it's air from the outlet of the large turbo, you will have ...

This is the whole idea of running ttwo turbos, it increases the amount of airflow a lot more, and has very little lag with it. Yes, thats right, more airflow, NOT boost. Unless the boosted air from the first smaller turbo is going into the motor (which it isn't, it's just driving the bigger turbo) ...

Re: My twin turbo experiment = 46psi
The original still pumps out 18 psi, the larger one goes to 20 -30 psi, combined figure of 46psi. I might be wrong here and feel free to correct me, but it won't matter how much boost the original turbo is producing, the end result at the motor you say, (from the larger turbo) is 20-30psi, so you a...

I'm not confusing myself at all. An engines 'angle' is the measurement in degrees between each crank pin (4 in a v8) Each crank pin is at a 90 degrees angle from the previous, so that viewed from the end the crankshaft it forms a cross. You say the Windsor is a 60 degree v8 and the Cleveland is 90. ...

Hey settle down there! I'm by no means a Ford fanatic like you are obviously but I stand by my original statement that they are 90 degree V8's. Why don't you help yourself and do a search on Google for 60 degree V8 and see what you get. There are a few newly designed V8's that are 60 degree but apar...

You seem like you really like the car as it is - stock. If I were you, I would just pay to get the 3.5 rebuilt but maybe a bit hotter cam and heads or like some others have said, go for a 3.9 and build it up. You don't want to go changing too much if you like it as it is as you will soon be breaking...

My P76 had an electric pump, just the basic goss square one, mounted under the car, so I am using that. Thanks for saying it looks organised, I think it looks UN-organised! The swirlpot is about a litre in size, it is just an oil catch can which I modified but it works well. Hi everybody, I know this is not 4x4 related but some of you may have done this before. I know Mark's adapters do a Chev into Range Rover set of engine mounts. I have fitted one to my P76. I used an '85 Buick V8 HEI. The lower half is identical to the P76 dizzy. I had to grind away a fair bit of the intake and head for clearance and I had to bend the alternator bracket a bit as well. I also fitted a advance curve kit and adjustable vacuum advance. It does ...
