I will have a alloy bar for sale next week if I get my winch bar, on a 1996 NJ GLS with factory flares/plastic.

Interested in info for fitting a GLX steel bar to a GLS, so we think it should just require some notching to go around the flares..?

Yes the ctek is fully circuit protected, you can leave everything hooked up and nothing will fry.

Mate I would have to recomend a CTEK 3.6amp should be about $175, Smart charger does everything even a power supply can be left hooked up all the time does not interfer with anything electrical most campers/vans use them now. Water/dust proof.

To work out the current needed Current = Wattage / Voltage so 100/12 = 8.3 amps per light but as someone stated may be more at 14.4V 6 lights = atleast 49 amps to run all you spotties on the 2L the standard alt should put out 40 amps. If the wiring is smaller than 4mm that will not be helping either.

Blkmav not 100% sure always take you original alt and measure to make sure but I am 94.79% sure ;)

Stevo correct the alt does take time to charge the battery but when you hook something up it draws off the alt first then the reserves in the battery.

and yeah the TB45 in the OEX cat should fit your GQ and are 100 amp have you worked out your current draw to find out what you really need? V=IR Amps = watts divided by volts ( someone correct me if I am wrong) so 1 100w spot light will draw 8.3amp's so if the GQ runs 50 amp standard so car draw ...

So your saying that a big boss compressor draws a constant 50 amps plus the residual amps in the battery.

Wow I would get the compressor checked before I blame the alt

You will need to start flicking through catologues to find something with the same mouting and maybe need to mod the wiring. Best bet go to you local parts shop with your alt off the car measure it up and find one that suits. Can be harder that you think. Good luck BTW it is OEX brand you may find ...

Like up a boat ramp you need low range for a boat over 17 ...
