Replacing the unis helped a little. So the next day we got the tail shaft balanced also, which did not help.

I know what you mean by phantom. You do listen to things alot more when work has been done.

This is to the point that I would almost not use 5th.

The mechanic changed the unis today. They were on the list to do anyway.

Not sure if it improved a tiny bit, but its still there.

Really? bugger, i didnt read that anywhere when deciding between the 4terain and safari.

The tail shaft was on the cards soon to have the unis done and a balance.

Could the clutch or tailshaft cause this only in 5th gear?

Everything was great and needed a new clutch.

Got a 4Terrain put in a few weeks ago and everything seemed ok.

At idle there is a slight vibration but not too much to worry about.

What is everyone doing with the flywheel on the GU. Leave as is and just replace clutch?

I have heard some have replaced the fly with a solid and hated it.

I put a Mark adapter in my GU and it is awesome. instructions are great but the only thing it didnt tell me was that i needed a hole saw to go through the transmision tunnel $50

Easy to set up and it gave me settings for different tyre sizes.
I did check also with GPS to tweak it.

Ive only had the car a few weeks and tonight I thought id open up the air cleaner box and check the filter and look around it before I order a snorkel.

It had one of the re-usable air filters that had not been cleaned for ages.

It had moths stuck to it and one side had that much dirt I dont know ...

yeah plus it aluminized steel which not many places do in mandril bends unless they have the mandril bending machine.

A few guys have said put a flex section in the system so the diesel doesnt rattle it apart.

I am in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and was wondering if anyone can recommend an exhaust place.

I am after a 3" mild steel exhaust and dump pipe for a GUII 4.2TD.

Does anyone pre make a bolt on system or will it have to be custom made?
