Re: got a bug in my tacho
Good to know thanks. Mine still does it but only about 10% of the time now compared to 90% before. I found 2 issues... 1st was the plug that sits near the thermostat housing had loose wires and 2nd was the actual magnetic sensor in the front of the motor. Took that out and cleaned it dry (had lots ...

got a bug in my tacho
Has anyone come across this on a GQ tacho? It started about 2 weeks back but its not always there. Comes and goes at will. Not a real problem though as after 26 years owning GQ's I know what revs the engine is at without the tacho. I am hoping its a simple fix. Hope someone has come across it before ...

Hey guys, Got a GQ 4.2 Diesel wagon. Also got a spare transfer box out of a TB45. (no idea which model) Any differences in the gearing between the 2. I am assuming all shafts and chain would be identical. I want to replace my 4.2 Diesel gears with the Tb45 gears ONLY due to having a stuffed bearing ...

I hear ya Lepa. Glad your happy with the outcome mate. I am going to sit this one on the fence for a bit until I decide weather I will up the boost on my patrol or not. But from what I have read, I can modify a std manifold myself that 50 mm it needs. So for now, I have other things to experiment ...

Anyone have any 1st hand info on this inlet manifold
Have been eyeing this manifold as a nice addition to my turboed GQ TD42 but would like some facts from those who know before getting ripped again. Anyone have any factual info on this thing, sure looks good. They claim to increase flow by 50% and also increase torgue (no figures shown on website ...

Re: TD42 Question for the Turbo Gods :-)
Silver top GQ motors are the same design as the UD trucks. Then in 95 they lightened them up a bit by using lighter pistons as they were not turbo from factory. Then when they brought out the turbo GU they went back to the heavier pistons and a slightly stronger crank. The flywheels also differ ...

rear GU/GQ tailshaft
Anyone know if the rear GU Tailshaft is the same as the GQ one for a LWB 4.2D. Gotta replace uni's and i think it would be cheaper to get a GU one from a wrecker. Plus the fact that the slide shaft would probably have less wear than my GQ one has.
Anyone..?
