The theoretical ideal angle of the panhard when sitting static is horizontal; so as to minimise bump steer... this is not always possible, and in your case may look crap. But depending on your spring rate and ultimately your wheel up travel it might be best to have the mount slightly above the axle ...

I have upgraded my Steering box to a GU one, which is a very common upgrade to the GQ. Since doing this it feels as if the steering pump is struggling to keep up - when trying to steer fast the steering wheel gets caught up (or notchy). Its very annoying/dangerous when driving fast through windy ...

The angle of the universals need to be equal to prevent any vibration!! So the angle of the shaft out of the gearbox to the tail shaft needs to be the same as the angle of the drive shaft into the pinion shaft on the rear diff. I can email you an autocad pic if you like. Email me and i can send to ...

I just did mine last week on my gq when i went across to GU front and rear housings shaped up some 10mm plate myself and welded in, it took about 2 hrs in total. I obviously had the housing out of the car anyway (due to the swap) but i couldnt imagine doing it with the swivel hubs still attatched ...

Hmmm.. very interesting guys. Viperguy the rims have performed well, other than the chrome rusting; but the load rating being higher may or maynot be related to the strength of the steel especially at the rim edge. I dont doubt that they are rated for higher loads and are thicker but this doesnt ...

I bought some Steel 15 x 8 King Wheels (Sunraysia Spoke Pattern) from a guy in Sydney who was importing them and selling them pretty cheap about a year ago and im wondering how they compare in strength to my second set of rims which are Australian ROH Trak2 Sunraysias of the same size. Just because the nut wasn't massively tight .. Why does that mean it is fcuked? explain!!
I presume that if it is meant to be done up that tight that there is a spacer of some sort between the two bearing inners, otherwise the preload would be huge??

Well thats not what i found... I was warned that it would be very tight and so expecting it to be so. But I nearly face planted the work bench in my shed when it turned pretty easy and i had put a fair bit of muscle into it antisipating it to be bloody tight :/ ????

That would make sense to why the bearing cage is plastic, making it easier to get the bearings out of the race.... not sure if i want to pull the damn thing apart now though. So if the inner is a press fit; it would be very damn hard to set the bearing pre-load when pressing bearing back on axle ...
