'96 should have 16" rims. Post the model and frame numbers and I will check what it is. It's probably an earlier model hat was complianced in '96.

The front Crank seal is a big job. $10 - 20 for the seal and as much work as doing a Timing Belt job. If it's leaking you may need a new Timing Belt. Check the Water Pump (better to replace at same time) as well. Rear Main is gear box out job and about $65 for the seal. Nev ps: PM me if you want a ...

No problems with my K&N. Lots of dirt and dust pre filter but none post filter. Maybe those with problems should check sealing at filter ends before they blame the filter for letting the dust through.

54mm. Some say 55mm for the Cruisers. I don't know about that but 54mm fits the Surf perfectly.

NiftyNev....i thought there was a thread on surf site about it. someone mentioned you could even get away with useing the LN series pumps (with a bit of tuning). I don't remember anything about this on the Aussie Surf Site. There may have been something though. Aren't the KZN gear drive whereas the ...

You have? What vehicle did they come out of? I am unaware of any Aussie vehicle with a 1KZ-T. Even the Surfs have a 1KZ-TE.

The ring gear will have 39 teeth the pinion 8 so it's 4.875. Some just round it up to 4.88 and some just say 4.8. All the same thing.

The one I ended up using was an Autotecnica 415-alu, which sounds like the one you had. And following your advice, I spun it 180 degrees, and drilled a couple of 1/8" holes to fit the lugs on the sleeve. Works like a charm now.. Thanks Yep. That part nunber may be it. I couldn't find the box which ...

I had a similar problem. Can't remember the nunber offhand but 415 sounds familiar. I have a '92 Surf and solved the problem with the indicator mechanism by cutting a slot for the pins to engage at 180 deg to the original engagement holes. Autotechnica steering wheels come in two screw patterns so I ...

I've got a '92 Surf and got a new Alternator from an auto electrician for a 3L. It's 75/80 Amp. You just need the one from around '92 and from a 4WD. I believe the 2WD were about 55Amp. Mine is front mount Vacuum Pump. Which do you need, front or rear mount vacuum pump?

If you turbo the 2.8 then I suggest you get an oil cooler housing from a 2L-T(E) so you can use the better dual stage Z334 filter. This will also have the oil feed line for the turbo.

Sounds perfectly normal to me. My 2.4 does the same. The reason you get more vacuum on engine shutdown if the 1KZ-TE has the same small butterfly as the 2.4 is because this closes on engine shutdown as well as the main butterfly.

The cast iron around the valve seats and the tops of the bores gets eroded away to the point where the heads are not repairable and the blocks have to be sleeved. The problem is an already cracked head allowing coolant into the bores. This causes the corrosion of the heads and bore not detonation ...
