Ben (on the Victoria club) did it to his Gen2 LWB. If Ben is the one I'm thinking of, it's an NL Shorty. Yes, We exchanged some info while he was doing his transplant, but I unfortunately lost contact with Ben. I think his handle was 'NLShorty'. (Must have been a Gen2 S WB, then!) The engine bays a...

Ben (on the Victoria club) did it to his Gen2 LWB.

My project is documented here.

Re: Engine conversion in 1996 Triton 4WD

Can you put a 6g72 into a 4g54 petrol 1996 4WD dual cab With enough $$$, cutting disks and welding rods, just about anything can go into almost anything else. :D It will fit in the engine bay, I think. I always recommend to buy the entire drive train (engine, gearbox and transfer case) as a unit. I...

Oils for diesel engines are usually 'better' than those for petrol engines - just because diesel engines put higher demands on the oil.

Caltex Delo 400 Multigrade is an excellent oil, suitable for both petrol and diesel engines. It's most probably 'over-kill' for a petrol engine.

43Pajero - Wow, you sound like a wealth of knowledge, you got any more info on the swap, ever done a 3.5v6 to 3.2Did swap? The three brothers did Di-D (no pun) transplants: 1. The engine block for the 2.8 4m40 and the 3.2 Di-D 4m41 are virtually identical. All existing peripherals will therefore bolt on. The head, turbo and injector pump are totally different, though. Mechanically it is thus a bolt-on exercise. The radiator for the 4m40 is fine as well. The real work is i...

To much!
It was part of a total rebuild:

*re-spray
*re-upholster

I am going to lecture you. If you can't change both oil and filter, rather change the filter every time and the oil every second time. The 4m40 and 4m41 engines have a oil cooler in the engine block, but it should drain (albeit slowly) if the filter is removed. Some models have a supplementary oil c...

My little 2.5 TD puts out 60kw at all four wheels, and 591nm [/u] (printed on dyno test). That's more torque than a 500hp chev or ford V8! I put a 2.5" exhaust on, upgraded the fuel pump and now run 14psi at the turbo. Believe it or not, these upgrades get me 50km per tank further. I haven't d...

Rim are std 0-offset 7" Mitsu.

No rubbing except from bumper ends, which needed ±1" trimming.
