I have tried countless options to get the nuts of BOTH my rear and front diffs with no success. I have just basically rounded the front diff nut.
I have come to the point where I should just give in and hand it over to a mechanic to get the b@stard.
Any thoughts?

I'm guessing it is the drive flange retaining nut on the pinion = difficult/impossible to get to...Hoonz wrote:weld a bit of flat bar to the nut if accessable

by drill/tap & add new to bolt to the existing drain plug you might be lowering the clearence, have seen this done B4, & have also seen the new modified drain plug ripped out of the rig over rocks,only to be found when that loud clunking / banging noise of the diff centre disintergrating starts to happen.. just weld a nuw nut to the existing one & try again, then replace it & weld on a protector ring to go around it ( cut the ring from thick pipe )

Happens with sierras all the time, not helped by the fact they use a 3/8" square drive plug that isn't deep enough to fully engage.

As said above smack the bottom of it with a hammer as this might break the rust on the thread and use a impact socket and a ratchet/breaker bar to undo....
The impact socket has the bigger flats on it and there is less chance of stripping the edges off the nuts.
otherwise weld a nut to it and use that to undo it....

Impact driver is your friend!!!
mate get an impact driver put an adator to suit be it 3/8th, 1/2 or 3/4 or inpact socket, clean it up best you can, get a large purswasion stick and give it a wallop... if that doesnt work get a chissle and perswasion stick and give it a wallop smacking it in the way to undoo it.
NOTE: lots of rust off over hours, even days if you have to. you will get it
