Hey all,
Question bout Cv's, brother has a worked 2ltr in the zuki we just built... all that power and welded front, mixed with new 33's = no drive to one wheel. Im thinking some more ppl have stuffed them to! how much do u guys pay new and or second hand ones? we are in tas and being told about 500 for a new one looking for a second hand one now.
2nd hand they're worth about $150 each if you can find them
You're just going to keep doing them though unless you A) stay well off the throttle and B) upgrade to 26 spline CrMo axles.
$500 new is about right.
Remember, ALWAYS remove the CV as soon as it breaks. They have a nasty habit of jamming up the steering if you drive on them when they're broken.

Steve what have you been paying for the CrMo units ? is it compareable to the new price of a stocker ?

So new OEM vs CrMo is very reasonable. I have purchased whole suzuki's for less than $500.

Calmini axles seem to be a cheap go between stock and full blown chromo ones. Check them out if you are on a tight budget. But with a worked 2 litre and welded diff on 33's I'd be going the ducks nuts of axles.

But then you still need to upgrade the cv's. Cheapest way is birfield cups and they are $50 a pop, add that to $140 a side for calmini axles and that will get you up over $400 by the time you get them here. May as well go for chromo axles and cv's then.
