My neighbour made one for his 45 and i did one for my 60. Used 76 mm steel pipe for mine and some rubber radiator hoses from a truck shop for the bends. I'll post some pics tonight or tomorrow. On the 45 he made a plate that came out from the windscreen hinge bolts to support the upright plus ...

Cheers mate, I'll have a look. The reason I ask is the old boy's 80 series petrol drains sub into main, while the old lux i had used to draw from either. Currently trying to work out if transfer is farked or just drawing off second tank.

79 Series sub fuel tank question

Gday,

Just bought a 2003 79 series diesel ute. My question is when you've used the main fuel tank and switch to sub tank (button in dash), is the fuel sourced for the 2nd tank directly to the injector pump. Or is it pumped into the main fuel tank and dispensed from there?

Cheers

Also with the thin stuff, clamp a bit of 5mm ally bar behind the weld line. It acts as a heat sink and helps stop blowing holes. Make sure it is ally but , otherwise it may be a tad hard to get off :?

My old boss had 35" BFG muds on his 100#. Ran a 75mm or 100mm lift. He also ran castor correction bushes. Rubbed on full flex but otherwise the car was basically standard (suspension and driveline wise)

It will be dissolved or thinned with a solvent in the can. After it is sprayed it will evaporate. Won't build up when wet.

I havn't got much info for you sorry mate, but any chance of some pics?? Intercooling helps by letting the engine get cooler, denser air. Larger injectors would allow you to pump more fuel into the combustion chamber. I know the later 1HDT's are EFI which means you can just reprogram the computer ...

Another way to straighten bends is grab one end of the steel. Hold so bend is up /\ and tap end your not holding on concrete firmly, (not hard, just firm). This will straighten the bend without twist

Watch for cracks on that bend later on as the steel will have become more brittle from the quenching. Shoudn't be a problem, but if it's going to happen it'll be there

And if I c an remember correctly , look underneath where the bullbar mounts mount to the chassis. There should some bolts going vertically into captive nuts. you can remove these and fit the hooks under the existing bar but still be bolted to the chassis.
