Injecotr pump solenoid, playin silly buggers, it causes the preignition type spluttering, odd that it would turn off when backing off, possibly low battery voltage/charging system or worn/loose connection on the solenoid. Its the single wire connection ontop? or at the back of the pump (closer to ...

maf sensor, fouled plugs from old/dirty fuel, intake hose on wrong side of sensor etc did you use the same maf pipe, if you stuck it in a 3inch pipe for eg you would be drawing alot more air than the motor would think = lean = miss = stall. sick injector, sick coil pack, sick plug lead. Heavy duty ladder/roof racks, will pass with that reason, although some don't like the "smartarse" use of the term, and might look a little harder at other modifications.

Re: stud pattern

99' onwards i think.

They are all 5x114.3, ford are the same, altrhough different offsets between the 2, but some will work. ford territory's are 17 or 18inch?, should fit, so long as offset allows for it

Most if not all 2wd hilux's have 5x114.3, the 4x4 obviously has a 6stud hub.

Re: bad fuel consumption on my 2.8 hilux

Alot of varying things will effect fuel economy, including factors out of your hands. Different fuel grade, different ambient temps compared to newcastle.. 12.5 is still far from bad fuel economy, 3l/100 is no big deal, i would run another few tanks before thinking about wasting money at a mechanics ...

Re: g52 different ratios?

There is a late model g52 which possibly could have different ratios, but im not 100% sure.

Although most box's with different ratio's, have a different code, among other things, like w56,w57,w58 etc etc.

Dont worry about the pinouts to much, just cross check the wire colors and find the other end of the wire, work out which sensor plug it is and then its narrowed right down. all the stuff you would want to use should be the same, you can work everything out with a multimeter thats what i did but ...

You can use a toyota bellhousing to mate a r series box to a 3rz, depending on the model of box it needs a 36mm spacer. 2TRFE box i think its called its from the hilux's/prado's with vvti 2.7s, no they are not 3rz's. So your popping 5th gear with a 2.8 turbo diesel in numerous box's, i dont know how ...
