Re: Sierra on LPG ???

Has anyone fitted LPG to a Sierra. Where did you put the tank?
I haven't fitted LPG but I looked at a SWB that had been converted for Cape York.
It had the standard tank in the useual place + a full width LPG tank in the back just in front of the tailgate...it almost had room left over to carry ...

Just took the instrument cluster out of the Maruti WT ute, because i can't find glass for it and i have a NT Sierra sitting there with a much better cluster.
The plugs look the same on the back. It couldn't possibly just be as easy as pulling one out and putting the other one in could it? Will the ...

When I did an engine mount (Driver Side), I didn't realise that it was in two pieces.
You dont need an engine crane, just a floor jack under the sump.

The vibration could also be a universal in the driveline.

I would try a few litres of petrol slopped around...and then poured out...repeated several times.

If it still has flakes coming out after a few goes, then I guess it will need to be steam cleaned.

If you weld front & rear, then you just leave one front hub unlocked (and run around in 3WD) until it gets really difficult....works fine.

I might be wrong, but maximum capacity in a Sierra to pass QLD Transport is 1.6 litres.

A 3T is 1800cc . From T-18 & Celica. Single cam in block but can be converted with 2TG (1600cc) head to make double overhead cam. jas
With the double overhead cam, that would be an interesting conversion ... as long as QT approves it.

Re: Road driving in low range...

I have a 96 Coil Sierra with a 4AGE 20v on 30's. The wheels combined with the different toyota gearbox mean that for acceleration on the road, things just aren't that special. 2nd gear doesn't rev out until 90k/h which is great for people who want top speed, but sucks for acceleration.

The Coily ...

A welded rear is easy to drive, but a bit dodgey in the wet.
If you drive it every day, or do a lot of road driving you will need a locker or open rear diff.
Also QT are a little anal about locked rear diffs
