Idle speed adjustment - GQ Patrol on gas

G'day, The idle speed on gas of my 91' GQ Patrol is currently sitting around the 400 RPM mark and sounds slightly rough. Hoping to bump it up to around the 800 RPM mark if possible. Is it a matter of just adjusting the inline screw between the gas system and the carby? I am unsure on the brand of ...

I have run both 33' and 35' radial claws on my swb GQ. Overall I rate these tyres highly. Yes they are noisy on the road but I am not really phased by this. I find they work very well on rocks with low pressures (better than any simex I have had) In mud they work very well (but not as well as simexs ...

I can safely say that the noise will probably be due to the drive shaft geometry after you put the 4" lift in. Either invest in some longer rear lower control arms in (10-16mm), gearbox crossmember packers, adjustable upper rear arms or a double cardan rear shaft should fix the problem. Search is ...

When I was stripping all the parts out of my old SWB GQ I pulled the box and motor out as one unit. Mind you the grill and rad were removed prior.
I wasn't worried about denting the engine bay / trans tunnel at the time as the shell was stuffed.
Yes, it is heavy and awkward to remove.

Lifting the rear bar is easy. No drilling / cutting is required. 1. Remove bar ends (3 bolts each side I think and disconnect indicators/ brake light connectors if required) 2. Undo 4 bolts holding centre alloy step to bar ends. 3. Undo 4 bolts retaining centre recovery point. 4. Lift centre alloy ...

thanks,

I dont think it is an issue with the bars that stretch over the winch drum.
It was freespooling with no issues with out the end cap.
I will pick up some low viscosity grease this morning and let you know how it goes.

Warn low mount freespool resistance

G'day.. I recently decided to regrease the inside of my M8000 low mount as I thought it was in need of a service. I had similar problems with one of my Rancho 9000's. Found that the shock had no resistance any more. With that I took it back and they rejected the warranty claim based on the fact that the shock had over extended. Was on a pretty standard GQ at the time. I dont think that I had abused them at all ...

Gday, I have a set of 16mm longer than standard rear lower control arms for a SWB GQ. I have a 3" spring and 2" body. Still have my rear quarters too. With a set of 35x12.5x15 Claws, will the tyres rub chronically on the rear guards? Should I sell the 16mm arms and get 10mm ones instead? I havent ...

Do any shops sell these?

When I first connected the wire to the armiture 'A', the stud was loose.

Could this be the cause of the problem? As the wire inside the housing may have shorted.
