My mate is looking at buying a 94 3.1td Jack, I just want to know what to look for on it if anything that is common and if you think it still would have life in it at 290000km's.
Thanks in advance

Ive had both, an 80, 4l petrol auto which I loved, had a 2" susp lift and 33's and it went everywhere I wanted to go but it got written off so I bought the landy.
The 80 series are heavy and awkward in tight areas and I did find visability a problem, the mrs took a flare off on a gate and I nearly ...

My mother did the mail run up Mt Buller for 15 years and had 3 of them over that time on LPG.
We tried a landcruiser at first but couldn't keep shakle bushes in it and brake shoes so we went to the brumbys.
We still have 2 of them, 1 92 (20thou over ea81, lightened flywheel and canopy) that we are ...

But I must say It was after about an hr 1/2 of heavy corrugations that would swallow a mini and after letting them cool for about that again they seemed to be back to normal ...

Feathering is another problem all together and is normally caused by bad shocks or shocks that are valved or set wrongly.

I got a phone call from the mechanic that was meant to be replacing the steering box yesterday morning, as he'd rang the owner to say how much the roady was going to be and by now I hope they got his heart started again.

Just bought 2nd XJ
Hy people
we just bought our 2nd XJ, a late 97' model (update dash etc) as the mother in law has claimed our first one.
We have only owned the first one (early 97) for 2 months and when she borrowed it while we went on holidays she decided that she was going to but the car from us.

Would need to be braked and rego'd as a trailer in vic and most states im pretty sure.
As far as registering it as a trailer you will have to play lucky dip and see what you come up with at vicroads and if you don't get the right answer go to another vicroads and you probably will.
Good idea though ...

well since the tow ball is designed to take the stresses over the whole range of movement there would not be a problem unless the hitch went beyond where the hitch bottoms out against the ball.
