Will a 4.2 td bell housing bolt onto a ZD30 box

My question is will either GQ or GU TD4.2 bell housing bolt up to a ZD30 gearbox.

And my other question is will a GU TD42 bell housing bolt up to GQ td4.2 motor.

I have searched everywhere and there is alot of mixed opinions but no specific facts. Im not chasing stories just a yes or a no.

Any ...

I have also heard that the ones with the vac pump under the injector pumps were the weaker ones. There the only ones that come through work with issues.

Re: GU Brakes - what have I done wrong?

I reckon try bleed the master. If you have bleed everywhere else starting from back left (longest distance) and worked your way up not much else you can do. They all bleed up fine dont they. (all bleed nipples squirt out). So may as well try the master.

Re: fitting of gq centers into gu housings

Depends what the 4.3's came out of. If there out of a gq coil sprung should be a straight swap. But the leaf sprung utes are different, bigger centre, bigger housing on the rear. Im not sure if any GU wagons came with the big diff. There is plenty of info on here. just hard to find.

Re: gu diff ?

I went 4.6 centres out of a GQ 2.8 into my 04 model GU 3L. It was a simple swap just had to swap the flanges over. Just one big nut. easy as. Just make sure the housing are the same size and everything will be easy as.

Re: 35 radial treps - what you lot think of them ?

I had a set and these really did perform well on slimy rock hill climbs. And they actually last a fair time on the asphalt. Weakess point is defiantly there side walls. And i never had a problem in the mud. great overall tyre. not bad on the Black top either descent wear for a muddie.

But its a ...

I would be going after a 4.5 manual. I've got a 04 3L that went boom at 118,000kms and i have plenty of mates with 3L's and 2.8 that have experienced the same problems. But if you are going to engine upgrade you may aswell get something with the stronger running gear. (3L or 4.5L).

I went out with a guy who had a welded front. He drove it hard all day in 35's and didn't break anything. That was in a GQ TB42 wagon.

I was quite suprised, i thought it would have busted a cv first bounce.
