A 3" pipe on a Tdi needs a muffler, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I built my own 3" system about 7 or 8 years ago, and didn't bother with a muffler as everyone said "it's a turbo, turbo's don't need mufflers..."
Bollocks.
I kid you not, SWMBO could hear me down-changing 6km from home, it ...

Another tall driver that fits OK (into a crew cab)
I'm a touch under 6'2" and all legs. The seat has been raised 22mm and the seating position is excellent for me, much more comfortable on a trip than our GU Patrol.
In the Patrol I have knee and back problems if driving for an hour or more, none ...

And Jim, you now get good brakes as well. :)
?? Not compared to 'fender brakes ?
(although the extra width of the GU brakes is nice to stav off fade)
Jumping from the GU to the Defender and back I prefer the pedal of the 'fender, and they both pull up just as well as each other in an emergency ...

Re: Wheel Spacers and/or longer studs..
I'm guessing Rovacraft or karcraft, at least phone and try. Karcraft are a Bearmach agent, Bearmach supply spacers.
Otherwise you could knock the old studs out and use some socket head capscrews lightly tacked into the back of the hub.
I used to get this done on race cars when i wanted to run ...

Re: 3.2 DiD into D2
Re the new D-Max/Colorado engine, one of the neighbours works for the Council here and gets a new ute every two/three years.
The latest Colorado is superior on fuel economy to his old Rodeo by a massive margin (can't recall the km/l but it's significant) and seeing as he doesn't pay for his fuel it ...

Re: New To Rovers, Chasing a Defender,
Defender change over point from the Tdi to TD5 was early/mid '99.
My late '98/first registered 99 is one of the last Tdi's and has the 'K' suffix R380 (built for the TD5, stronger 'box than the Tdi 'J' suffix R380) ) and had OAT coolant and Cold Climate (green) power steering fluid too. (both TD5 ...

Re: 3.2 DiD into D2
Serg, I have some power/torque curves comparing the 300Tdi and both versions of the 2.8 but it's in a PDF and I don't think I can upload it to here.
Anyway, here's some raw data, sorry it's in imperial units.
LR TD5
Displacement :- 2,495 cc
